Recently I was attempting to find a solution for a site that wanted to integrate Wordpress MU, BuddyPress and utilize its own forum to extend the functionality of those programs. I thought of BBPress and looked up the forum software to see if it was of any immediate use.

It turns out, that is exactly what BBPress was designed for – easy implementation into a Wordpress platform. In fact, someone had already laid out specific directions – key for this open source world as most seem to gloss over the bits of detail the rest of us are in need of.
